When you upload and transfer a file or folder using Sendlinx, each recipient will receive an email with a download link to the file or folder. Recipients who have Sendlinx accounts can sign in to view the material you uploaded and transfered; those who don't have Sendlinx accounts can access the material by following the download link through a web browser.

How to upload and transfer a file or folder

  1. Sign in to https://portal.sendlinx.com.
  1. Click on Send, in the upper left-hand corner of the screen.

        3.  Fill in the following fields.

To: (Recipient)

  • Enter a recipient's email address. If there will be more than one recipient, press Tab or Enter after each email address. 
  • To remove a recipient, hover over the email address that you would like to delete, then click the  icon beside it.

Link Password (optional)

  • To provide an extra layer of protection, you may add a password to the download link that will be generated. This ensures that only recipients who have the password can use the link to access the material you uploaded.  Note: "No link password" is the default setting.


Expiry Date (optional)

  • You may use this option to have a download link expire at a date and time of your choosing. After the link expires, no one can use the link to access the material you uploaded. Note: "No link expiry date" is the default setting.

Email Body

  • Compose a message to the recipient(s) in this field. 


4.  Attach the file(s) or folder you want to upload and transfer. Either click on Add Files to select specific files or click on Select A Folder to attach a folder.


If you chose Add Files, locate and select the files; then click on Open.  Note: You may select multiple files at once.

If you chose Select A Folder, locate the folder; then click on Upload.  Note: Uploaded folders will be zipped and when the recipient follows the download link, the contents of the folder will be downloaded in a compressed, zipped format.

The added file(s) or folder will appear here in the window below the Send icon. If you want to remove a file or folder, hover over the item that you would like to delete, then click the highlighted  button.

5.  Review the details you entered in each field. Then click on Send and wait until the upload and transfer are complete.

6.  A confirmation screen will appear when the email containing the download link has been sent to the recipient(s) successfully.

How to send a link to additional recipients (from the confirmation screen)

Once the upload and initial transfer are complete, you can send the download link to additional recipients, including those who don't have Sendlinx accounts.  Simply copy the download link address shown in the confirmation screen and you’re good to go.

Any recipient can follow the link in a web browser and download the material without logging in to Sendlinx.
